Antenna and Wave Propagation : Antennas play vital role in wireless communication as a terminal component of transmitter and receiver systems. The quality of signal at receiver depends on type of transmitting and receiving antennas, their orientation, transmitting frequency and geographical terrain. For installation & maintenance of wireless systems, the basic knowledge of wave propagation theory is essential and the technician is required to handle a variety of antennas. This course will help the students to select an antenna of desired operating frequency.

Computer Network : Computers and computer networks are the sole of the present telecommunication system. Advanced digital communication system is based on the computer networks. Now a days every organisation, industry or the service sector own their private computer networks. Therefore in every organisation, the maintenance of the computer networks becomes one of the essential jobs of a diploma electronics engineer too. This course is therefore designed to help the Electronics and Communication diploma holders to develop this competency.

Virtual Private Network -  VPN is a network that is constructed by using public wires — usually the Internet — to connect to a private network, such as a company's internal network. There are a number of systems that enable you to create networks using the Internet as the medium for transporting data. These systems use encryption and other security mechanisms to ensure that only authorized users can access the network and that the data cannot be intercepted.

PSTN  - Short for Public Switched Telephone Network, which refers to the international telephone system based on copper wires carrying analog voice data. This is in contrast to newer telephone networks base on digital technologies, such as ISDN and FDDI.
ISDN and ISDN- Abbreviation of integrated services digital network, an international communications standard for sending voice, video, and data over digital telephone lines or normal telephone wires. ISDN supports data transfer rates of 64 Kbps

DNS and DNS - Internet service that translates domain names into IP addresses. Because domain names are alphabetic, they're easier to remember. The Internet however, is really based on IP addresses. Every time you use a domain name, therefore, a DNS service must translate the name into the corresponding IP address.

Mutimedia Communication -Multimedia communications have brought the paradigm shift in electronic communication system. The most common day to day gadgets and applications which use multimedia are telephone, television, wireless systems, internet and video call and video conferencing, satellite television, remote file transfer etc.
Audio file compression - Dynamic range compression, also called audio level compression, in which the dynamic range, the difference between loud and quiet, of an audio waveform is reduced. Video and Audio Compression. Video and Audio files are very large beasts. Unless we develop and maintain very high bandwidth networks
Image Compression - Image compression may be lossy or lossless. Lossless compression is preferred for archival purposes and often for medical imaging, technical drawings, clip art, or comics. Lossy compression methods, especially when used at low bit rates, introduce compression artifacts. Lossy methods are especially suitable for natural images such as photographs in applications where minor (sometimes imperceptible) loss of fidelity is acceptable to achieve a substantial reduction in bit rate. The lossy compression that produces imperceptible differences may be called visually lossless.
